Summary
Pastor Eugene T. Grove, Sr. started the Evangelical Community Church on Easter Sunday above the Biddle Street Theater in 1958. The church was incorporated by the State of Maryland on March 6, 1963. Church services were held off and on in the basement of 5008 Midwood Avenue for approximately 12 years.
Our present edifice at 1110 Beaumont Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21212 was built in 1975 and became New Frontiers of Faith Baptist Church, Inc., at the suggestion of Preacher Joseph Brown. Dr. John D. Brook of Detroit, Michigan was the speaker at our first dedication service. During Pastor Grove’s years of ministry, he was preceptor to many ministers – some of whom served as assistant or associate ministers at New Frontiers of Faith Baptist Church, e.g., Min. Willie Wynn, Min. Joseph Colbert, and many others.
After a progressive year in 1987, the Lord in all His wisdom and love chose to call our beloved Pastor Eugene T. Grove, Sr., home on November 16, 1987, at 6:20 a.m. Memories of his preaching, singing, and caring ways will remain in our hearts forever.
On December 2, 1987, Brother Willie J. Williams was voted in as the Acting Pastor of New Frontiers of Faith Baptist Church, Inc. On September 14,1988, the church voted unanimously to install Pastor Willie J. Williams. Our former, Pastor Willie J. Williams, went home to be with the Lord on September 6, 2011 – preceded in death in 2008 by his faithful wife, Sister Mary Williams. We thank God for his faithfulness in the perseveration of the core values established by our founding Pastor Eugene T. Grove, Sr.
Down through the years, the church has had a policy of not permitting music that does not reverence the Lord. This tradition continues unto today. Pastor Grove and Pastor Williams were always very proud of our choirs and the music presented in our church. They emphasized that our music must be pleasing to the Lord at all times and must give Him glory, honor, and praise.
Min. Andrew Williams, Jr. was voted in as Pastor on September 29, 2010 and was installed on Sunday, November 21, 2010. His spiritual goal was to equip the saints for holy living and to reach out to the lost with the glorious gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The First Lady, Sis. Joyce Williams, was faithful and committed to the things of the Lord.
Min. Aaron Green, Sr., was our Assistant Pastor. His wife, Linda Green, was the Assistant Chairperson of the Women’s Fellowship.
Min Robert L. Williams was appointed the Interim Pastor of New Frontiers of Faith Baptist Church in April of 2022. His Ordination Service was on March 5, 2023, at Genesis Bible Fellowship Church – led by Pastor Wayne Cockrell. The church voted unanimously to install Min. Robert Williams! The Installation Service was on May 7, 2023, at New Frontiers of Faith Baptist Church. His spiritual goals in life are to equip the saints for holy living and to reach out to the lost with the life-changing gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The First Lady, Sis. Marsha I. Williams, is faithful and committed to the things of the Lord. She is the Administrative Aide to Pastor Robert Williams and the church, Director of the Women’s Ministry, Teacher of Children’s Church – where the youth learn God’s word on their level, and she is a member of the Sanctuary Choir.
New Frontiers of Faith Baptist Church sits on a hill. It is a beacon of God’s love – sending out a message to all who approach it. “Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). It is the belief of the congregation that when you enter our church, that your search for a warm, friendly, Bible believing and Bible teaching church has ended. Our theme verse for years has been II Corinthians 10:16 – “To preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man’s line of things made ready to our hands.”

PASTOR EUGENE THOMAS GROVE

Born in Halfway, Maryland on April 27, 1912, Eugene Thomas Grove was the only child of William and Rena Grove. In 1917, when Eugene was five years old, he moved to Baltimore, Maryland with his parents. He accepted Christ as his personal savior and was born again at a very early age. His home church during those early years was First Baptist Church in East Baltimore.
He married Eursilla Grove in 1932. From this union they were blessed with seven children: Glenda, Jean, Eugene, James, Ronald, Eursilla, and David. Children were important to Pastor Grove. He and his family opened their home and hearts to young people often during difficult times. Whatever his children had was shared with these young people who gave their hearts and lives to the Lord. Many became ministers, musicians, teachers, writers and orators. He had a special way of making every child feel as though he or she was unique in a positive way. Building self esteem and motivating others came naturally to him. He often repeated “we dare not go up without the children.”
Eugene felt called to serve God at a very early age. As a young man, young Grove answered God’s call to the ministry under the tutelage and leadership of the late Reverend Albert J. Greene. He was ordained and later became Assistant Pastor of Grace Memorial Baptist Church in 1942 through 1943. Following the death of Reverend Greene, in 1944, Eugene served as Acting Pastor. He was installed as Pastor in 1945, and serve as Pastor through 1957.
Revelation 1:3 says “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophesy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.”
In the Spring of 1958, Eugene became the founder of New Frontiers of Faith Baptist Church.
Throughout Pastor Grove’s ministry, children were a primary focus. He instructed, inspired, and redirected young people to study the Word of God, which led them to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. He traveled all over the city, encouraging and supporting youth in the development of their gifts, talents, and scholastic abilities. Many young people were inspired to enter the ministry and live lives of Christian leadership.
Pastor Grove fervently studied God’s Word and encouraged others to “study to show themselves approved unto God….” II Timothy 2:15. He received training at the Baltimore School of the Bible, Moody Bible Institute, and Dallas Theological Seminary. In 1967, he received an Honorary Doctorate of Theology Degree from the Community School of the Bible in Detroit, Michigan. Pastor Grove was blessed with a gift of language, always enjoyed reading, writing and using words with wit and beauty.
The late Pastor Grove was a loving husband, father, pastor, and friend to many. He had a way of making everyone feel special. His legacy of strength, determination, and unselfishness continues to inspire others.
We thank God for the life and ministry of the late Pastor Eugene Thomas Grove, Sr., and we will always remember and love him.

Pastor Robert L. Williams was born on November 11, 1950, in Georgetown, South Carolina. After hearing the gospel (John 3:16) at New Frontiers of Faith Baptist Church he was convicted of his sins and was led to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was born again in January 1979. Pastor Williams and his wife, Marsha, were married on August 20, 1980. From this union God blessed them with three sons; Tyrone Jamar Williams, Shaun Robert Williams (at home with the Lord), and Micah Timothy Williams.
Pastor Williams was ordained to the office and work of a Deacon in December of 1981 under the leadership of the late Pastor Eugene T. Grove, Sr., Founder of New Frontiers of Faith Baptist Church. Later, God led him to another assignment at Agape Christian Baptist Church where he was called into the Ministry and Licensed in 1986 under the late Pastor Zachary C. Jeffers. God again led Pastor Williams to another assignment at Genesis Bible Fellowship Church in 2003.
Pastor Williams graduated from Baltimore School of the Bible, which is affiliated with the Evangelical Teaching Training Association (E.T.T.A.), in June of 1993.
Under the leadership of Pastor Wayne Cockrell of Genesis Bible Fellowship Church, Pastor Williams was a part of many ministries which he led or was a part of from 2003 through 2022. He ministered in the Genesis Outreach (G.O.) and as the Discipleship Ministry leader, Flock Leader, and Evangelism Teacher for the New Members’ Orientation Classes.
From 2003 through 2022 Pastor Williams volunteered at the Helping Up Mission, Manor Care Nursing Facility, and Alice Manor Rehabilitation Facility.
