I Declare
January 13, 2025
Scripture: Psalms 91:2 - I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.
There are many ways that the word “declare” is used. To declare means to make known or to state clearly, to announce officially, and to state emphatically as a reminder. There are many things we go through in our walk with the Lord – mountain-top and valley experiences, waiting on the Lord to answer our prayers, times of victory and defeat, disappointment, dealing with grief, and the uncertainty of decisions and plans for our lives. It is imperative that we declare, believe, and stand on God’s Word for direction, hope, and encouragement!
Some of the many scriptures that encourage/strengthen me are:
• I declare that I have peace with God through Jesus Christ! (Romans 5:1 - Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: )
• I declare that the Lord will never leave nor forsake me! (Ephesians 4:30 - And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.)
• I declare that my life has purpose! (Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.)
• I declare that I will trust the Lord Jesus Christ no matter what I go through! (Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.) 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.)
• I declare that I am a conqueror/victorious in Christ Jesus! (Romans 8:37 - Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.)
• I declare that I will tell others about my Savior! (Isaiah 12:4b - …declare his doings among the people, make mention that His name is exalted.)
• I declare that the Lord will not put/allow more on me than I can bear! (I Corinthians 10:13 - There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
• I declare that I will not dwell on negative thoughts! (II Corinthians 10:3-5 - Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.)
• I declare that God is my refuge! (Psalms 91:2 – I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.)
What are some scriptures that you draw from/recite/think about that give you strength, hope, and peace of mind – that sees you through hard times? (Remember Philippians 4:8 says “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”)
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father: Thank You for Your Word (the Bible), which I can read, study, memorize – which gives me hope, strength, encouragement, deliverance – on a daily basis. All this I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

One of my Scriptures that I'm declaring and holding on today is Philippians 1:6 (NKJV) which reads:
nbeing confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; Thanks so very much for all of the declarations of promises from the Word within this devotional.
