Be Encouraged

Be Encouraged

Scripture:  I Corinthians 15:58 - Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Do you sometimes wonder if what you are doing in serving really makes a difference? Are you tempted to think that it may all be a waste of time or effort?  Be encouraged!  Nothing you do for Him (with the right attitude/motive) is a waste of time or effort.  Don’t worry about how people view what you are doing as you are serving the Lord.  God knows/sees your efforts and motives for what you do. Colossians 3:23-24 says  And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

Paul wrote that the appropriate response to have victory in Jesus is to stand firm.  We shouldn’t let anything move us.  We should always give ourselves completely to the work of the Lord – realizing that our labor is not in vain in the Lord.  We must move forward with the work of the Lord – that is the work that the Lord has called us to do.  We should not be concerned by what others are up to in different ministries or in the ministries we are in.  It is important to follow what the Lord has directed/called you to do.  Because of the resurrection, you can stand firm and trust/know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Prayer:  Dear Heavenly Father:  Please help me to always stand firm – realizing that my labor is not in vain in the Lord. Help me to do whatever You want me to do.  All this I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thank You dear Father that each believer can stand firm trusting in Your Word! Philippians 1:6 "being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." A great encouragement for any situation, circumstance, or season in life keeps us focused.
