The Attack

Scripture:  Ephesians 6:10-13 Finally,  my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.  11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

For many decades now, Lucy has been praying and seeking God in a particular area.  She recalls struggling in the same area even as a young teenager.  She accepts the reality of her dilemma and believes it has been used to help develop who she is.  Lucy knows that her walk with the Lord has been enhanced in spite of it.  God gives her grace to persevere each time.

There are those times though because of her dilemma, Lucy becomes frustrated.  Whenever this happens, she continues to pray and receives from God renewed hope.  However, this does not prevent the enemy of her soul from later coming back again attacking in the very same area.

While a repeated attack was still in process, the enemy embarked in a different area.  This attack was in the area of her devotion to God.  Just a couple of weeks prior to this, Lucy asked herself: ìCan I defend scripturally what I believe most of the time?  She considered, especially in todayís culture, followers of Jesus must stand up for the Truth and accurately share the Bible.  Lucy has thoughts of starting personal Bible studies on questions/answers defending the Faith.  She would be the first person to admit that she doesn't know the Word as she ought to and agrees that the Bible can never be exhausted.

In the mean while, Lucy got a Bible Study homework question wrong.  Later on, she felt so inadequate and briefly thought of stepping down from teaching ministries at church.  She cried out:  Who am I to teach God's Word?

Lucy then wondered whether or not she really made a difference at church.  She saw how the enemy endeavored to pull her attention to others being well encouraged.  Even though she gathered that she was being attacked big time by the enemy, she still was dismayed.
Nevertheless, Lucy still pressed her way since she believed Romans 8:28 and that God allowed the attack for a purpose.  With that truth in mind, the joy of the Lord again became her strength.  Lucy is very thankful that all of her battles belong to the Lord!  She's more determined than ever to obey God and continue to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Prayer:  Thank you Lord that I am victorious in Christ.  Help me to always put on  my armor.
