Danger Within

Scripture:  2nd Timothy 3:1-3  – 1But mark this:  There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good.

God foresees, allows, and knows all about our dangers.  He is working in us increasing our faith in those situations.  God has Sovereign control over every danger.  His purpose stands.  We need not allow the extremity of our dangers cause us to doubt God’s care for us.

Beware Of “Doubting God” - Do not slip away from the truth of God’s promises found in His Word.  We cannot select what we want to believe from Scripture limiting ourselves from obeying God’s Word (2nd Timothy. 3:16).  We must hold fast to our profession in these last days. Live holy regardless of the times.

Beware Of “Having Dull Ears” - Hearing much Word does not mean we are learning those lessons which God wants us to experience.  Know what you have heard making sure that obedience follows.

Beware Of “A Hardened Heart” - Do not be insensitive to how God is setting you apart for His use in the midst of your danger.  Are we dedicated and committed to carrying out God’s special purposes for the praise of His glory?  Are we looking with spiritual eyes to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith to view danger?

Beware Of “Isolation” - Do not break fellowship with other believers (Hebrews 10:19-25). Are we serving the Lord out of love, or out of convenience?  There is a lack of individual and corporate prayers for spiritual wisdom (Ephesians 1:11-22).

Prayer:  Dear Heavenly Father, please comfort me by your Holy Spirit.  Encourage me from your written Word.  There’s true safety in your presence.  Help me to look always to you.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
