Jesus is the Only Way

Scripture: John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. People say or may think there is more than one way to go to Heaven or to get to God. We know that all roads do not lead to Heaven or to get to God. According to God's word that is false teaching. There is no other way to God the Father or to Heaven but by God's Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 14:6, Acts 4:12) Man has only one option to be saved, that is, to believe on the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In John chapter 10 Jesus said I am the only doorway that man can come to and be saved. Jesus also said that if a man tries to come any other way to be saved, he is a thief and a robber. Man may have his opinion about being saved or trying to reach God, but the word of God says there is a way that seems right unto man, but its end is the way of death (Proverbs 14:12). John 10:17-18 says Therefore doth my Father love me because I lay down my life. His burial and resurrection occurred after he died/suffered on the cross for the sins of the whole world. Jesus also said that no man takes it from me (meaning His life) because I have power to lay down my life and I also have power to raise my life back up. Jesus voluntarily laid down His life and died for our sins, and that's what qualifies Jesus to say with authority I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me. Thomas asked Jesus the question how can we know the way?

Jesus revealed three biblical principles to them from John 14:6. (1) Jesus is the only way: Jesus emphasized the only pathway to the Father was by Him so that they would be clear/sure about knowing the only way to the Father or Heaven (John 14:1-4). To false teachers who are used by the devil to teach false doctrine about the word and salvation, Jesus has a message for them in Matthew 7:13-23. The narrow gate is the way for all born again believers in Jesus Christ. The broad way is for all the religious church goers who are depending on their good works to save them, and all the false teachers that teach that Jesus is not the only way to the Father. They rebel against the word of God, and they will say in that day Lord have not I prophesied in Your name and cast out demons in Your name? And didn't I do many wonders in Your name? Jesus will say to them depart from me - I never knew you - you that work iniquity. (2) Jesus is the truth: (John 8:32) Jesus said and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Jesus Himself is the truth. He is the source of all divine truth - the perfect standard of what is right - not just intellectual facts, but the truth of salvation that saves us and frees us -- not to do what we want to do but to serve Him and to be all that He has meant for us to be. That is God's perfect truth revealed through Jesus Christ. (3) Jesus is the life: Jesus gives us not just life, but He gives us eternal life - right now, and forevermore to all that believe in Him (John 20:31)!! With full assurance and confidence, He promises to all that believe in Him. (I John 5:13) We should always follow Him, obey Him, and live for Him. We should tell others how He changed our lives!

Prayer: Dear Lord -- Thank you for revealing the truth of salvation to us through Your Son - the Lord Jesus Christ - who is the only way to You! Thank you for loving us and calling us to a life of service, and for guiding/teaching us about Your divine truth. In Jesus' name. Amen.
