God is My Refuge/Shelter

Scripture:  Isaiah 4:6 - And there will be a tabernacle for shade in the daytime from the heat, for a place of refuge, and for a shelter from storm and rain.
Psalms 119:114 - You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.

God is a shelter in the times of a storm.  We have to run to God, not get bitter, cry out to Him, and He will deliver us. We don’t know how our current trial will end up, but we do know that God is up to something.  He will mold, make, shape, squeeze, transform us so that we will choose to draw nearer to Him.

When Noah was going through a trial, he remained committed to make the ark – which led his family to safety.  God promised that He wouldn’t destroy the earth by a flood.  Noah’s family were saved from the flood.  When Moses had to deal with Pharaoh, he had to stand up to Pharaoh and tell him to let God’s people leave Egypt.  When Joseph went through a lot with his brothers who hated him, much later, Joseph ruled over many people and saved/sheltered his family from the famine.  When Daniel needed shelter/protection when in the lion’s den and the fiery furnace, later, he wrote the prophetic book of Daniel. Jonah found himself in the belly of a giant fish.  God taught him how to receive grace and extend mercy – even t his enemies – those in the city of Ninevah.  Later the Ninevites invited Jesus Christ into their lives.  When Paul was persecuted, later God led him to write some of the books of the New Testament. When Mary needed shelter because of her trial, God caused her to be with child of the Holy Spirit.  Later, Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and because Jesus rose again, those who invite Jesus Christ into their lives can have victory over sins.  We have to remember that when we are faced with storms/trials, that God is up to something!  We can rest in Him.  He has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us.  God is our shelter, refuge, protector, guider, our Savior, Lord. He is everything we need!!!  Hallelujah!!  Hallelujah!!
