Waiting on God
Scripture: Psalms 27:14 - Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!
Have you ever found yourself in God’s waiting room? Have you ever waited on God to answer a prayer request, but it took a long time and you found yourself getting anxious or worried about the situation? Has your patience ever run out? Our immediate response should be to go to God’s word. There you will find deliverance, hope, and comfort for your times of need. God will speak to your heart while you wait on Him. An acronym for waiting is:
W – Watch and pray (I Thessalonians 5:16, Philippians 4:6-9) – Jesus will give you peace to guard your heart and control your feelings or emotions as you wait on Him (Jesus Christ).
A - Adoration and praise (Psalms 69:30, Isaiah 61:3) - As we bow down in His presence to worship, adore, magnify, glorify, and praise Him, we get joy in our hearts!
I - I surrender all to the Lord – my sins, doubt, fears, and insecurities. (Romans 12:1 and 2, I John 1:9)
T - Time - God’s plan and timing are always best and perfect. (Revelation 1:3, James 4:14-15) Life is short, therefore, live your life for God – not the world.
I - Invest – your life, your spiritual gifts back to God and others. While waiting on God, I will serve Him with all of my heart (Matthew 20:28, Phil. 1:6)
N - Nothing can separate us from God. When we face hardships or trouble, remember our relationship with the Lord is secured. (Romans 8:35-39, Romans 8:1)
G - Growth – There is always room for growth in our Christian life. God wants to build godly character in us as we wait on Him. Our desire should be to be more and more like Jesus Christ -- not just in word, but in deed and action. (Is that your desire?) (I Peter 2:1`, II Peter 3:18)
Prayer: Heavenly Father – as I face challenges in this life, I thank You for the hope and
the victory that I have in Jesus Christ. Help me wait on You to speak to my heart. Please continue to teach me Your ways. (Lamentations 3:24-26, Isaiah 40:31) I will continue to wait on You, because You are worth waiting for. In Jesus name. Amen.

I'm so thankful that the LORD shows us in Scripture the benefits/blessings of waiting on HIM and the negative consequences of not waiting on Him! All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2nd Timothy 3:16) -- Dear Father, help us to wait and apply Psalm 46:10...to be still and know that You are God...
